About RHA
Mission
A regional public-private partnership working to improve the community's health. Purpose
To research health problems, prioritize health issues, set indicator targets for the year 2010, benchmark progress in achieving objectives, identify resources, encourage and assist in the development of a coordinated regional health plan, serve as a catalyst for positive change in the health care arena, measure the impact of Regional Health Alliance (RHA) initiatives, foster collaborations, and initiate projects to promote the health of the community.
Public/Private Partnership
The Regional Health Alliance (RHA) is an innovative partnership of public and private health-related entities. RHA members are governance-level and community-based volunteers working with key leaders and board representatives of health care organizations, business and industry, education, community organizations, physicians and citizens in the community at large who are concerned about health improvement.
The RHA prioritizes health issues based upon assessment data. Utilizing a wholistic definition of health, the RHA utilizes preventive and indicator-driven approaches to improve health care access, to decrease chronic disease, and to meet specific health indicator targets by 2010.
Collaborations
In order to avoid duplication of services, maximize resources, achieve outcomes, and to increase awareness of projects undertaken by the RHA, collaboration will occur on an ongoing basis with other county-wide and regional organizations and stakeholders. The RHA models shared ownership and collaborates with organizations such as the Calhoun County Public Health Department, community foundations, The Coordinating Council, United Way, Calhoun Intermediate School District, Health Partnership, societies of health professionals, and health leadership groups.
RHA accomplishes much of its work through Issue Action Groups.
